Proof:
• Please supply a hard copy proof (preferable in color) or a low-res PDF proof file.
Page Sizing:
• Actual page trim size with 1/8” bleed pulled out on all 4 sides extending beyond the page edge. No floating pages with manually created crops on an oversized page.
• All spreads must be set up as 2 separate full pages; please, no single page printer or reader spreads.
Artwork:
• Mac formatted Quark or Indesign with supporting images/links (included embedded images) and all used fonts (preferably the complete family font set not just bold or italic, etc.)
• A High-Res PDF may be supplied instead of, or in addition to the native files.
Specifications for making a High-Res PDF can be supplied upon request.
• Files names should be no longer than 20 characters, including links.
Fonts:
•
For type 1 fonts make sure to supply both screen & printer fonts. Make sure no menu-styled fonts have been used as menu-styled fonts will not collect/package for output.
To Supply Files:
• Supply files on either a CD or through our ftp site:

• Please call your CSR after uploading files to ftp to have your files processed.
Images:
• Images should be at least 300 dpi for those being placed at 100% or less. For those placed larger, the resolution should be increased accordingly: (ie. an image placed at 200% should have a resolution of 600 dpi or greater)
• For Photoshop created/scanned logos and images that consist of important type, the resolution should be 1200 dpi placed at 100% & increase accordingly with larger placement.
• All images should be CMYK for process jobs (not RGB or Index or Lab, etc.) or grayscale/duotones for spot color jobs.
• Images should be saved in either tiff (no LZW compression) or eps format; no jpegs please. With Indesign only – Photoshop format can be used as well.
• For layered Photoshop files, please provide the original layered image along with your flattened printing version, the exception being images placed in Indesign using layered effects, those must remain as layered psd files.
Color:
• If your file is to run as process, please convert all your spot colors to CMYK, this is especially important for effects with transparency which can cause problems when converted to CMYK outside of the native program.
• Maximum ink density is 300. Please do not use Registration color (ie. 100% of each of CMYK).
• Rich blacks should follow this color break: 50%cyan, 40%magenta, 40%yellow, 100%black. Please do not make type rich black.
• Type that is knock out/white should be no smaller than 8pts.
